My Style is a mix of Documentary/Photojournalistic and Lifestyle Photography

1. Documentary/Photojournalistic Wedding Photographer:

   • Style: A documentary wedding photographer focuses on capturing candid, unposed moments as they naturally occur. The emphasis is on being a silent observer, allowing events to unfold organically without much interference.

   • Approach: The documentary style is characterized by a hands-off approach, with the photographer aiming to be unobtrusive and capture the day as it happens. The goal is to document the genuine emotions, reactions, and interactions of the couple and their guests without directing or staging.

   • Outcome: The resulting images reflect the authenticity and spontaneity of the wedding day, offering a sincere and unfiltered portrayal of the events.

Photojournalistic-style wedding photography captures candid moments or spontaneous pictures of people, decor and action. (Think: You laughing with your partner during the first dance or your best friend wiping away a tear during a toast.) Also known as documentary-style wedding photography, these types of wedding photos are all about those special, in-between instances. Your story is told through photos by focusing less on capturing the perfect technical photo but more on capturing the moments that contribute to the 'mood' of the wedding day.  I'll be honest though, there may be times when the lighting and scene is magical and I will want to shift into editorial mode, which may result in a more technical, posed, artistic shot.  If you're cool with it of course!

*This approach is great for couples who want genuine images of real life as it unfolds at your wedding.  For couples who want to be fully present and don't want to perform.  

 

2.  Lifestyle photography Wedding Photographer: 

• Style: focuses on candid photos but is done with some direction and styling.

• Approach:  characterized by a hands-off approach, until needed, at which time I will step in to provide prompting and direction, set the stage for best scene and lighting.

• Outcome:   has an approachable feel and relaxed result by encompasing candid and raw moments paired with some stying and direction to create an optimal wedding image gallery.

*This is approach helps my couples who need a little more direction, prompting, and as a last result, posing.

Overall, I am super easy to work with and I will respect your wishes and boundaries on your special day!  This day should be enjoyed and not feel like an endless photo session.  I want you to enjoy and let me capture your moments!   I do also like to texturize your gallery which means I like to play with different trends or styles (intentional blur, grain, flash, film, polaroid, and macro shots) to name a few.  This will be in addition to your classic shots.
